Did you know that one of God's name is Jealous? Exodus 34:14 Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. Adonai is our Lord, Master, Divine Ruler, and our sovereign God does not tolerate rivals. Yahweh, our righteous God becomes angry when other gods are prioritized before Him, obedience to His commands are ignored, and our biblical covenant vows with Him are not honored. Our Holy God, Jehovah, requires faithfulness from His beloved people. In His relationships, El Shaddai, our God Almighty is more than enough. He nurtures, provides for, strengthens and blesses. Our Jealous God displays compassion, mercy, protection, love, forgiveness, and loyalty. Spiritual intimacy and honest commitment is what, Elohim our creator/Holy Trinity (Father God, Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit)requires of those who have chosen Him as Lord God, Saviour, and Spirit Guide.
God's jealousy is different than humanity's cruel attitude, sinful acts, and emotionally draining jealousy.
Read old testament illustrations of man's jealousy: Genesis chapters 4, 30, and 37.
Jealousy according to the Dictionary.com definition is: resentment against a rival, a person enjoying success or advantage, etc., or against another's success or advantage itself, mental uneasiness from suspicion or fear of rivalry, unfaithfulness, etc., as in love or aims, or vigilance in maintaining or guarding something.
Have you ever felt complimented when someone was jealous over you? Are you aware that human jealousy can be dangerous? Proverbs 27:4 (See the different bible translations; examples are the New Living Translation, American Standard Version, Amplified Version and English Standard Version).
Jealousy does not travel alone. Next time someone is acting in a jealous manner, look to see if you can identify the evil and wicked buddies that travel with personal jealousy: see Corinthians 12:20, Galatians 5:20, Song of Solomon 8:6, Ezekiel 16:38, Proverbs 6:34, Numbers 5:14,29 and Deuteronomy 32:21
