Bezalel, do you remember him?

Bezalel, the Hebrew meaning of his name is "in the shadow (or protection) of God". There are two men in the Old Testament with the name Bezalel; one who was gifted by God with many skills, see Exodus 35-38, and the other was required to divorce his foreign pagan wife, Ezra 10. The topic today is regarding Bezalel, who was called and filled with the Spirit of God. The man who along with other gifted artisans built needed items for the tabernacle. 2 Chronicles 1:5. mentions the tabernacles' bronze altar built by Bezalel. How could I possibly forget about an Israelite man who was called by God, filled with the Spirit, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in All manner of workmanship?

Teamwork Exodus 31: 1-11 King James Version

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:

3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

4 To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,

5 And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.

6 And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;

7 The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is thereupon, and all the furniture of the tabernacle,

8 And the table and his furniture, and the pure candlestick with all his furniture, and the altar of incense,

9 And the altar of burnt offering with all his furniture, and the laver and his foot,

10 And the cloths of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office,

21 And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the Lord's offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments.

22 And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted, and brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold: and every man that offered offered an offering of gold unto the Lord.

23 And every man, with whom was found blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair, and red skins of rams, and badgers' skins, brought them.

24 Every one that did offer an offering of silver and brass brought the Lord's offering: and every man, with whom was found shittim wood for any work of the service, brought it.

25 And all the women that were wise hearted did spin with their hands, and brought that which they had spun, both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine linen.

32 And to devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,

33 And in the cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work.

34 And he hath put in his heart that he may teach, both he, and Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.

35 Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work, and of those that devise cunning work.

Bezalel. was the great-grandson of Caleb 1 Chronicles 2:19-20.

• Bezalel's grandfather Hur, was the man who served alongside Moses and Aaron Exodus 17:11,13 & 24:12-14.

• He was the skilled craftsman that was the leader in building whatever was needed for the tabernacle.

• Bezalel and his team built all things according to God's commands.

• Bezalel, Hur, and Perez were descendants of Judah, the son of Jacob. I Chronicles.

• On top of that Bezalel's future family members were relatives of Joseph, the carpenter, and Step-Father of Jesus Christ.
